Weekend in Finale

Weekend a Finale

This weekend, in Finale Ligure, at the Outdoor Region headquarters, Stefano took part in the RockShox Tuning Days , to try out the new RockShox suspensions, which you could also participate in! Did you know that?

In fact, these test days, designed by RockShox for true connoisseurs, are open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, and on Monday only to retailers.

This year they have organized four events across Europe, next year they aim to offer more, to offer true enthusiasts a pro experience, with dedicated bikes and assistance.
Will you come too?

First novelty, tested and seen up close:

The fork itself has a greater air volume, the Select Charger 3 hydraulic cartridge has been improved regarding the problem of oil leakage and increasing reliability.

The fork head has also been revised to ensure less weight; the travel can be changed from 100 to 120 mm and finally they have spaced the position of the bushings, this means that the stem is much more guided and more stable and smooth.

Tested for the Manie, part of the 24h of Finale route, Stefano felt the fork was stiff and very smooth; great fork, he really liked it!

The other protagonists of the weekend were the new intelligent Flight Attendant suspensions!

the Flight Attendant is the electronic system that automatically manages the opening and closing of the suspension.

For now only available for the gravity world (enduro and trail), it will soon arrive for cross country too.

the Flight Attendant turned out to be very interesting due to the gyroscope and cadence sensors; this electronic system perceives whether the bike is on the flat, downhill or uphill, and whether the rider pushes on the pedals or not, and based on all this data, decides whether or not to close the suspension.

Unlike the brain or similar systems to make the bike more efficient, this one works in reverse; the suspension is always open, the electronics decide when to close; it is not an always closed system, which is instead opened when necessary.

Finally, it is important to underline that RockShox dedicates and develops this system for each individual bike:

each Flight Attendant system is dedicated and developed for the individual chassis of each bike model; it is a specific system consisting of shock absorber, fork and sensors, which only works with all three parts, not just one part. It is necessary for the system to be able to guarantee an effective improvement in the efficiency of the bike.

Super interesting weekend for those who love off road! Stop by the workshop to find out more and find out how to participate next year!
