The S-Works Tarmac SL8 is the fastest road bike ever created by Specialized, the result of OLTRE twenty years of development and eight generations of evolution. It combines advanced aerodynamics, extreme lightness, structural rigidity, and ride comfort in a single, uncompromising design, engineered to win on any type of terrain.

The concept behind the Tarmac SL8 is simple: it's not enough to be just lightweight or just aerodynamic; what truly matters is overall speed. Thanks to advanced simulations based on real-world data, the Ride Science team has demonstrated that the Tarmac SL8 is faster on every type of route: up to 16.6 seconds over 40 km on flat terrain, 128 seconds on the Milano-Sanremo course, and 20 seconds on the Tourmalet climb.

Aerodynamics have been optimized where it truly matters, on the bike's leading edge. The new steerer tube design, called Speed Sniffer, reduces air resistance by improving aerodynamic flow in the most critical area. The seatpost has also been redesigned to reduce turbulence generated by leg movement, contributing to greater overall efficiency.

The FACT 12r carbon frame weighs only 685 grams in size 56, 15% less than the Tarmac SL7, and is lighter than any other bike used in the World Tour. The frame structure utilizes solutions developed with the Aethos, distributing forces efficiently and reducing the need for additional carbon layers.

Stiffness has been further improved, with a 33% increase in the stiffness-to-weight ratio compared to the SL7. This translates to immediate pedal response, greater steering precision, and a feeling of total control, without sacrificing comfort. In fact, the Tarmac SL8 offers 6% more vibration absorption, improving ride quality over long distances.
