While the original Forekaster was designed as an XC option for wet conditions, the new version is aimed precisely at modern low-travel trail bikes (100 mm-130 mm), that is, for the "downcountry" segment. The new Forekaster rolls fast but also provides solid traction in cornering and braking across a wide range of trail conditions. It fits into the Maxxis MTB range between our XC options, which prioritize rolling speed (Aspen, Rekon Race, Ikon, Rekon), and our gravity-oriented treads (Dissector, Minion DHF, Minion DHR, Assegai), which emphasize cornering and braking traction. The new Forekaster is the perfect choice for long rides over a wide variety of terrain.
