Durable suspension, powerful brakes, and reliable drivetrain options complete these models for smooth riding and tackling big jumps with excellent braking capability. TUNING RIDE DYNAMICS: Our Specialized Ride Dynamics team has developed the kinematics and refined the geometry to deliver a responsive and lively bike, suitable both for technical singletracks and for jumping a flight of stairs.
CUSTOMIZATION: Each STATUS 2 model is equipped with flip chips (located on the Horst pivot link, near the rear axle) that allow the rider to precisely adjust the frame geometry according to the desired riding style or terrain. The bikes are shipped in the high position, but by turning the flip chip, the bottom bracket is lowered by 8mm and a slacker head angle is created. Loosening them: bottom bracket lowered by 8 mm and the head tube angle will be slacker by half a degree.
