BOX GEL SANTAMADRE LACTATE 60

A gel that combines 40 g of carbohydrates in a 1:1 ratio with 60 millimoles of lactate, to develop a new nutritional strategy in endurance sports. It does not replace carbohydrates. It complements them. Because the future of performance is not only about supplying more energy, but about better understanding how metabolism responds when the body works close to its limits.

Its development is the result of months of research into the role of lactate in performance, hundreds of hours of testing with athletes, and the nutritional strategy used with Yomif Kejelcha during his feat of breaking the two-hour barrier in the marathon.

While glucose and fructose use their own absorption pathways, lactate enters the body through an independent pathway, via MCT transporters. This makes it possible to add a further metabolic source within the same energy strategy.

Once absorbed, lactate is used as an energy source, but it also acts as a signal that informs the body of increased effort. This means it activates all the body's mechanisms intended for performance, promoting the activation of the processes involved in the response to high-intensity exercise.

Activation time: 7–10 minutes.

Directions for use:

High intensity (less than 3 hours): take one gel immediately after warm-up. If the effort lasts more than one hour, take one gel every 40 minutes.

Long duration (more than 3 hours): follow the instructions in the table.
