Following the success of the Cinturato Gravel RC, our first tire specifically designed for gravel racing, we have developed an even more reinforced version: the Cinturato Gravel RC X. This model features the new Techwall X Gravel, a carcass structure with 60tpi fabric extending OLTRE the tread line, along with an additional layer of protection from bead to bead. Maintaining the distinctive tread pattern of our RC models, the Cinturato Gravel RC X is designed for gravel races on the toughest surfaces.
Mix
Specific formulation for Gravel, born from Pirelli's experience in the rally world where smoothness on asphalt and grip on dirt are crucial. This compound uses the same polymer matrix as the MTB SmartGrip Compound, but improves smoothness. Gravel use requires higher speed and on/off-road versatility, which is why Pirelli's technicians have oriented the compound's properties towards better energy efficiency, allowing excellent performance on dirt terrains and high grip both on dry and wet surfaces. With smoothness values on any surface similar to those recorded by purely road tires.
Structure
In order to develop a tire capable of meeting all the needs for a gravel race on the roughest terrains, our engineers have combined technologies derived from reinforced casings specific to road tires with those specific to MTB tires. This fusion has led to the construction of a tubeless casing featuring a 60tpi fabric that is reinforced and cut-resistant, extending OLTRE the tread line in addition to a bead-to-bead protection layer. The Techwall X Gravel, despite its increased puncture protection, still offers an optimal riding feel thanks to the aramid foldable tubeless-ready bead, optimized for wide rims and low operating pressures.
