Description
The new generation of the PZERO Race TLR is the most high-performing tire in our portfolio OLTRE to being the first tubeless tire entirely made in Italy at the new Bollate factory. The introduction of the new SPEEDCORE technology in the 120tpi casing features a compound mixed with aramid that coats the inner layer of the tire, improving both the smoothness and durability of the tire. The result: a less rigid but faster tire. The compound, on the other hand, maintains the same advanced SmartEVO technology, shared with the other high-performance tires in the PZERO range.
Mix
The most advanced racing formulation ever for road use, born from Pirelli's experience in top Motorsport competitions and specific collaboration with World Tour factory teams. The new SmartEVO Compound uses a blend of 3 different polymers, each providing performance in a perfect balance of opposing characteristics, such as grip and smoothness. The ternary polymer mixture with "intelligent" behavior characteristics as the basis of the exceptional properties of the SmartEvo compound allows for better grip on dry and wet surfaces, while simultaneously improving rolling resistance. SmartEVO Compound is a high-performance compound developed for the most modern cycling disciplines, from local races or the World Tour to epic adventures where climate and road surfaces demand tires that excel in all conditions. SmartEVO is exclusively used in the rangeP ZERO™.
Structure
SpeedCORE™ is a tubeless-ready structure developed by Pirelli (Patent pending) for our high-performance cycling tires, representing our most advanced TLR technology to date. It derives from Pirelli's automotive experience and is made possible also thanks to our new production plant in Italy, near the headquarters in Milan. The SpeedCORE™ construction consists of a thin, waterproof layer of rubber compound infused with aramid particles. This layer covers the inside of the tire and, thanks to the presence of aramid in the rubber compound, allows for better mechanical resistance, improved air retention, and greater overall flexibility: all contributing to the tire's overall performance.
